Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan to start “Mondays with the Mayor” on Clarksville Transit System Bus

City of ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – Beginning on Monday, May 7th, 2012, Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan will ride the Clarksville Transit System bus to work and invites Clarksvillians to join her.

“Clarksville is very fortunate to have a wonderful public transit system. Our busses are safe, convenient and can help us all save money. CTS does a fantastic job of maintaining the fleet, being on time and delivering excellent service. I’m excited about this opportunity and I look forward to meeting folks and answering questions on my way to work,” Mayor McMillan said.

“Mayor McMillan has always been very supportive of our transit system and our employees,” said Jimmy Smith, Director of the Clarksville Transit System. “When she approached me with this idea, I thought it was great. CTS’ twenty-fifth anniversary is coming up on June 1st and we’re going to be announcing some very special offers and events in conjunction with that milestone. ‘Mondays with the Mayor’ is a great way to kick off the celebration.”

The Mayor will ride the bus from the stop at Wal-Mart on Madison Street (Route #6) at 8:23am. She plans to continue these rides on a regular basis.
