Spring Fling – Another Successful Year

 

Dunbar Cave State Natural AreaClarksville, TN – The Friends of Dunbar Cave sponsored another successful Spring Fling event.  Saving Our American Raptors was a hit with their educational sessions on birds, including a one winged bald eagle, several hawks, and owls that the children could pet.  The Reptiliacs brought dozens of pet snakes to show the kids a variety of species and let kids touch the snakes up close.

Clarksville Gas and Water Department Madison Street Lane Closure

Clarksville Gas and Water DepartmentClarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water has closed approximately 500 feet of Madison Street between Liberty Parkway and Tanglewood Drive for natural gas line maintenance.

The outside eastbound lane nearest Tangelwood Drive will be closed until 3:30pm.

15th Annual Ladies Golf Tournament is May 16th

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – The 15th Annual Ladies Golf Tournament, sponsored by Austin Peay State University athletics, is a little more than a week away.

The tourney will be Wednesday, May 16th at Swan Lake Golf Course.

The four-person scramble is held to help promote awareness of women’s sports in the Clarksville community.

Hamburger Hill Veterans return to Fort Campbell

 

Fort Campbell KY, 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – Dozens of Vietnam-era, 101st Airborne Division Veterans will return to Fort Campbell May 8th-9th to commemorate the 43rd anniversary of the Battle of Hamburger Hill.

The 3rd Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, “Iron Rakkasans” will welcome the Veterans back to Fort Campbell and will host several events in their honor.

On May 8th, two generations of Rakkasan warfighters will watch a screening of the movie Hamburger Hill together on Fort Campbell followed by a private tour and capabilities demonstration for the Vietnam-era “Iron Rakkasans.”

APSU Governors Baseball to face Lipscomb Bison and Evansville Purple Aces

Austin Peay State University GovernorsClarksville, TNAustin Peay State University‘s baseball team will play two midweek contests, hosting Lipscomb in a 6:00pm, Tuesday contest before traveling to Evansville for a 6:00pm, Wednesday outing.

Austin Peay (28-18) has struggled to find consistency since the beginning of April, posting an 11-8 record in that span. The Govs offense has continued to strengthen as the season has progressed, posting 10 or more hits in 15 of those contests.

Stroke Takes Center Stage in Kids’ Hip Hop Video Competition by the American Stroke Association
