Clarksville, TN – The team of Cindy Taylor, Gina Deere, Donna Ruggles and Lynn Osborn captured the 15th Annual Ladies Golf Tournament on a scorecard playoff, Wednesday, during play at Swan Lake Golf Course.
The quartet fired an 11-under 61 in the four-person scramble, sponsored by Austin Peay State University to raise awareness of women’s athletics. They edged out the team of Jan Watson-Paulette Lynch-Mashea Johnson-Andrea Dunford, who also shot a 61.
The team of Carole Overton -Jamie Walker-Terri Grubb-Oniece Gregory was the second flight champ with a 69. The threesome of Debbie Canada-Debbie Guynn and Linda Highfill took second (70) on a scorecard playoff while the team comprised of APSU Assistant Athletics Director Cheryl Holt and three former Lady Govs softball players, Jane Goodson, Connie Campbell and Amanda Travis, took third also with a 70.
Cindy Taylor had the longest drive on No. 6 while Boots Silver had the longest at No. 14.
Lisa Bremer had closet to the hole on No. 10 while Joy Ogles had the same on No. 13.
Paula Morton won the putting contest and the prize package of a round of golf and lunch for four at the Golf Club of Tennessee.
