Fort Campbell to receive visit from Assistant U.S. Attorney General Thomas Perez

Fort Campbell KY, 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – Thomas E. Perez, Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Rights Division, will discuss the enforcement of laws aimed at protecting the rights of servicemembers in the housing, lending, disability, voting and employment contexts, including recent settlements under the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA) at Fort Campbell, May 17th, 2012.

Following his remarks, Perez will take questions from servicemembers as their families.

“Servicmemembers make great personal sacrifices,” Perez recently stated. “We will ensure that the rights of the brave men and women who serve an protect us are protected at home.”

Event: “Protecting and Strengthening the Rights of Service members and Their Families.”

Participants: Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Rights Division Thomas E. Perez; U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Kentucky David J. Hale; and U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Tennessee Jerry E. Martin. Hale is a chair of a U.S. Attorney working group in support of service member and veteran rights.
