Clarksville-Montgomery County Memorial Day Ceremony May 28th

Montgomery CountyMontgomery County, TN – The Montgomery County Veterans Service Organization is hosting its annual Memorial Day Ceremony at 10:00am, May 28th, at Veterans Memorial Park, Clarksville.

City and county officials, as well as MCVSO staff will speak, with the keynote address by Colonel William B. Hickman, Deputy Commander of Operations, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault).

Music will be presented by the 101st Airborne Division Band, Fort Campbell, and posting of the colors by the Elester Garner Chapter of the 555th Triple Nickel.

A tribute will also be presented to honor Clarksville native and Vietnam veteran Major Woodrow W. Vaden, an Air Force pilot whose plane went down over Vietnam in 1964 and whose remains were only recently identified and returned home. Area Veterans Service Organizations will conduct a wreath- laying ceremony.

Veterans Memorial Park is located at the rear of the Montgomery County Health Department, 1300 Madison Street, with parking available at Veterans Plaza. In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held inside the William O. Beach Civic Hall, Veterans Plaza.
