Clarksville Department of Electricity reports afternoon Storms cause Power Outages

Clarksville Department of ElectricityClarksville, TN – Storms that moved through Clarksville yesterday afternoon were the cause of power outages that affected approximately 3,500 customers in various part of town.

Customers began reporting outages in the downtown area and the Bel-Air neighborhood off Fort Campbell Boulevard at approximately 5:00pm. High winds brought down tree limbs, with many taking power lines and poles down with them.

At 10:45pm last night, power had been restored to all but about 50 customers. As of 8:00am this morning, scattered outages included the following areas: Windriver Road, Sunset Drive, Hayes Street, Lafayette Drive, Caskey Drive, Armistead Drive, Adkins Street, Taft Drive, Widgeon Drive, Oak Lawn Drive, Poplar Street, and Evans Road.

Crews are working to restore power to these areas now.
