Clarksville Police Department Sobriety Checkpoint and Alcohol Saturation Results for May 25th, 2012

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – The Tennessee Highway Patrol, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department, and the Clarksville Police Department sobriety checkpoint and alcohol saturation patrols on May 25th, 2012 were very busy to say the least.

The combined efforts of the law enforcement agencies, as well the paramedics on scene were instrumental in the operation going off without a hitch. The sobriety checkpoint and alcohol saturation patrols were partially funded by the Governor’s Highway Safety Office.

The results of the sobriety checkpoint and alcohol saturation patrols are:

Unlawfully Carrying a Deadly Weapon (1 Stolen handgun recovered from a local residential burglary) 2

Light Law Violation 24
Equipment Law Violations 9
Rev/Sus Driver License Violation 1
Other Driver License Violations 16
Seatbelt Violations 12
Financial Responsibility Violations 22
Other Miscellaneous Violations 22

13 Vehicles were searched. There was 13 Misdemeanor Arrests made and 1 Felony Arrest.

5 ABC Violations were detected including, 5 unlicensed Security Guards, Outside Food Source, No Pregnancy Warning Signs posted, No Health Inspection Posted, No Liquor License Posted.

THP AND CPD also had 13 additional DUI arrests over the Memorial Day weekend bringing the total to 22 DUI arrests.
