Nashville, TN – Tennessee Department of Transportation contract crews will close lanes on Interstate 40 East and West near the Davidson-Cheatham County line this weekend to perform bridge repair work.
I-40 from mile marker 188.5 to mile marker 187.5 will be reduced to one lane in each direction beginning Saturday, June 16th, 2012 at 5:00am. The lanes will reopen no later than Sunday, June 17th, 2012 at 8:00pm. The lane reductions are located between the McCrory Lane Exit (#192) at the western boundary of Davidson County and the Kingston Springs Exit (#188) in Cheatham County.
Previous weekend closures have resulted in lengthy delays on Interstate 40 East and West. TDOT will use overhead and portable message boards to alert motorists of the lane closures. Motorists are advised to plan ahead and seek alternate routes if possible. Law enforcement officers will be on site in the work zone to provide traffic control as the work is being completed. TDOT also asks drivers to use caution, reduce their speed and be alert to changing traffic conditions in work zones across the state.
