Montgomery County Mayor Carolyn Bowers supports Raise Your Hand Tennessee Day of Action 2012 by reading to children at the Public Library

Montgomery CountyClarksville, TN – Montgomery County Mayor Carolyn Bowers will visit the Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library on Thursday, June 21st at 10:30am to increase awareness of Raise Your Hand Tennessee.

She will read to a group of children and speak about the importance of supporting literacy efforts in Montgomery County. Raise Your Hand Tennessee is a statewide effort by United Ways of Tennessee to recruit volunteers to mentor, tutor, and read to children.

The Public Library is looking for a committed person to become a volunteer coordinator for the library to help the library’s efforts in reaching out to those who would like to mentor and tutor children at the Library.

This event is free and open to the public.
