Davidson, NC – Austin Peay State University senior placekicker Stephen Stansell has been named to the 2012 College Football Performance Awards Watch List for NCAA Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) placekickers.
The Athens, TN native (McMinn County HS) is one of 36 placekickers who were named to the FCS watch list. In 2012, Stansell was APSU’s scoring leader with 53 points that include 10 field goals and a perfect 23-of-23 on extra points.
Stansell enters his senior season second a0l-tiume in APSU history in field goals made (31), attempted (52) and field goal percentage (59.6 ). He also is third all-time in point-after kicks made.
The purpose of the College Football Performance Awards is to provide the most scientifically rigorous conferments in college football. Recipients are selected exclusively based upon objective scientific rankings of the extent to which individual players increase the overall effectiveness of their teams.
