Clarksville, TN – The Waggle 4 person golf scramble is an annual event, hosted by the Eta Tau chapter of the Pi Kappa Alpha Alumni Association with 100% of the proceeds going directly to the Clarksville-Montgomery County Humane Society.
Waggle Golf Four Man Tournament to benefit the Clarksville-Montgomery County Humane Society.
This year’s event is slated for 2:00pm at Swan Lake Golf Course on July 14th. The scramble is your standard 4 person format, but has many novelties unlikely to appear in most scrambles. The “yard of string” has been a huge hit with the golfers over the years whereby a team who has missed a putt (or shot), can simply lay down the string to the hole, cut the distance off the string, and the previous putt will count as a holed shot.
There will also be throws whereby each participant gets one “throw” which acts as an extension of the previous shot. there will be mulligans, red tee shots, long drive contest, closest to the hole contests, and a putting contest as well. We are introducing a new event this year called the Marshmallow drive where participants see how far they can drive an actual marshmallow off a golf tee for a door prize.
In addition to the tournament, participants also get free beverages and a BBQ chicken dinner immediately following their round. Most, if not all participants win a door prize and there will be several items which will be included in a silent auction including a Tennessee Titan’s Chris Johnson autographed football helmet. There will also be many items raffled away including a framed print, donated by the Roxy Regional Theatre and Hodgepodge.
Over the past three years, this event has increased from 90 golfers, to well over 150 and the Pi Kappa Alpha Alumni Association has managed to raise over $13,500 for the Humane Society.
The cost to enter the tournament is $75.00 per person, or $300.00 per team. Sponsorships are available at three levels, $100.00, $250.00 and $500.00. To enter a team or sponsor a hole, please contact Scott Beasley at 931.320.6490.
About Scott Beasley
I was born in Charleston, SC. I moved to Tennessee in 1977 and into Clarksville in 1989. I am currently employed by a shipping company and recently got married. I am conservative in most of my political views and I oppose government waste with a passion. I believe in personal responsibility and accountability. As far as my stance on the issues, I am against abortion, against the death penalty, I believe we did the right thing by invading Iraq(but we’ve made many mistakes since that decision), I believe we are over-taxed by an inefficient government at all levels, and I’m against gay marriage(though I have no problem with homosexuality, I believe it should be called a civil union and they should have all the rights as married couples.) I abhor racism and believe Martin Luther King to be the greatest asset to civil rights this country has ever seen. I believe a person should be viewed by the content of their character rather than the color of their skin. I’m a Christian and believe the biggest problem in society today is abortion. I recently graduated from APSU and will now continue my education towards a degree in Political Science.
