Clarksville, TN – On the eve of one of the area’s biggest golf tournaments, hundreds of friends, family and spectators packed the Bud Barn at the Charles Hand Farm Friday night to remember the late Mickey Fisher at the Mickey Fisher Memorial Golf Tournament dinner.
After food, drinks and camaraderie were shared, various items were auctioned off for charity and scholarship money as part of the third annual event.

Autographed Nashville Predators memorabilia, Austin Peay Governors basketball tickets and commemorative Mickey Fisher golf items were among the items auctioned off during the silent and live auctions.
In addition to Friday’s auction, a capacity field of 176 golfers will take to Cole Park Golf Course Saturday to help raise funds to help send area youth to college.
Proceeds from the auctions and tournament will help benefit wounded or fallen Fort Campbell, KY soldiers whose children attend Austin Peay State University.
“We’ve had an amazing turnout,” the late Fisher’s wife, Mary Fisher, said prior to Friday’s auction. “We have a full tournament field and everyone has done a great job to help make tonight a special night. Mickey would be proud.”
Fisher, who passed away in 2009, was a basketball standout at Clarksville High School and APSU.
Clarksville Sports Network owner and author Hank Bonecutter shared old tales and memories of the late Fisher in his “Memories of Mickey” series this week on Clarksville Online.
