Nashville Sounds beat Memphis Redbirds 4-1 at Greer Stadium Tuesday night

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds topped the cross-state rival Memphis Redbirds, 4-1, on Tuesday night at Greer Stadium in the opener of a four-game series.

In his first game with the Sounds and fifth overall during his rehab appearance, catcher Jonathan Lucroy went 3-for-4 with and RBI and three runs scored. The three runs scored matched a season-high by a Sounds player this season.

Austin Peay State University to graduating military students and veterans with APSU Military Coin on August 8th

 

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Active duty and military veteran students who will graduate from Austin Peay State University on August 10th will receive APSU’s military coin in a separate ceremony.

The military graduate recognition and coin presentation ceremony, with the theme “All Hail to Those Who Serve,” is scheduled for 5:00pm, Wednesday, August 8th in the Morgan University Center Ballroom. The event is open to the public.

Northwest lost to Johnson County Monday night in the State Junior (13-14) Baseball Tournament, 18-12

 

Clarksville National Little League is hosting the 2012 State Junior (13-14) Baseball Tournament

Little League BaseballClarksville, TN – Northwest locked horns with Johnson County at the 2012 State Junior (13-14) Baseball Tournament held Monday night, July 23rd at Clarksville National field. Johnson County loaded the bases in the top of the 1st with no outs.

Northwest’s pitcher Cortny Griffin struck out the next batter. Griffin then walked a batter and hit another. He then settled down and struck out the next two. Johnson County got two runs but left the bases loaded.

Tennessee Bureau of Investigation puts McMinnville Man Wanted for Murder on Tennessee’s Top Ten Most Wanted List

 

Tennessee Bureau of InvestigationNashville, TN – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has put a McMinnville, Tennessee man on the state’s Top Ten Most Wanted List after law enforcement obtained a murder warrant for his arrest and he has not been located. A reward is being offered for information leading to his arrest.

Gregorio Rosas Arenas, 35, last known address 1350 Viola Road, McMinnville, TN, is wanted for criminal homicide for the June 20th, 2012 fatal shooting of  29-year-old Albertano Guerrero Trejo.

Nashville Predators sign Colin Wilson to Three Year Deal

Clarksville Police to conduct DUI Sobriety Checkpoint and Saturation Patrols along Fort Campbell Boulevard July 27th

 

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department will be conducting a roadside DUI Sobriety checkpoint on July 27th, 2012 on Fort Campbell Boulevard.

The Clarksville Police Department is also conducting city-wide impaired driving saturation patrols, July 27th and 28th, 10:00pm – 4:00am.  The intent of saturation patrols is to detect and apprehend impaired drivers through increased traffic enforcement.

The checkpoint and saturation patrols are being funded, in part, by the Governor’s Highway Safety Office.

Grainger County beat Memphis 10-9 Monday night in the State Junior (13-14) Baseball Tournament

 

Clarksville National Little League is hosting the 2012 State Junior (13-14) Baseball Tournament

Little League BaseballClarksville, TN – Memphis and Grainger County met Monday night, July 23rd in the 2012 State Junior (13-14) Baseball Tournament Monday night at Clarksville National field. The game was knotted at zero in the bottom of the 2nd. That’s when Grainger went on a rally pushing eight runs across the plate.

Memphis came back and scored two of their own top of the 3rd while Grainger scored one. Memphis’ bats came to life in the 4th driving five runs in. Grainger scored another run bottom of the 5th.

Clarksville Police Departments hosts its 14th Teen Citizen Police Academy

 

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department is hosting its 14th Teen Citizen Police Academy Class, July 23rd – 27th. In the week long class, the teenagers see the many facets of city and county law enforcement operations.

They learn about school violence/bullying, law, use of force, specialized units, and are taken on a tour of the courts and jail.
