Riverfest Tour d’Art Exhibits and Competition Registration begins Soon

Riverfest 2012Clarksville, TN – This year’s competition will feature the following three exhibits: Amateur & Professional Divisions, High School Division, and the Senior Citizens’ Division. Artwork is displayed at exhibits at various locations in downtown Clarksville, and then juried, and over $2,500 in prizes is awarded.

The Amateur & Professional Division exhibit will be hosted at the Smith-Trahern Mansion September 7th from 10:00am-8:00pm and September 8th from 10:00am-5:00pm. Artists may enter in six categories: Painting & Watercolor, Drawing, 3D/Fiber Arts, Mixed Media & Print Collage, Digital Photography and Film Photography.

Monetary awards are given to first through third place in each category (for each division) as well as a Best of Show Award and purchase awards are being offered by Farmers & Merchants Bank, Legends Bank, Neal Tarpley Funeral Directors, and Planters Bank.

Entries will be accepted September 3rd at the Smith-Trahern Mansion from noon–3:00pm. The exhibit is sponsored by Legends Bank and the Clarksville Arts and Heritage Development Council.

The High School Division Art Exhibit will be hosted by the Customs House Museum and Cultural Center. The competition includes five categories: Photography & Digital Images, Sculpture, Painting, Mixed Media/Collage, and Drawing.

Monetary awards are given to first through third place in each category (for each division) as a Best of Show Award. Artwork will be accepted on August 30th-31st from 8:00am to 4:30pm at the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department main office.

The exhibit is sponsored by the Customs House Museum & Cultural Center, the Clarksville Department of Electricity and the Clarksville Arts and Heritage Development Council.

The Senior Citizen Art Exhibit will be hosted by the Downtown Artist’s Co-Op September 6th from noon-6:00pm and September 7th and 8th from noon-5:00pm. All seniors ages 65 and up, residing in Montgomery County and surrounding counties; are encouraged to participate.

There is no cost to enter this competition. Ribbons will be awarded for first through third place in four categories: Photography, Painting & Watercolor, Drawing, and 3D/Fiber Arts.

The exhibit is sponsored by the Downtown Artist’s Co-Op and the Clarksville Arts & Heritage Development Council.
