Austin Peay Dunn Center’s floor project enters final phase

Clarksville, TN – The final phase of the Dunn Center floor project has begun in earnest on the campus of Austin Peay State University.
After Friday’s graduation and the removal of the protective flooring, workers began cleaning the surface to allow the floor design to begin. The Sports Floors, Inc., workers began a light sanding early Wednesday morning before placing tape for the respective lines and letter stenciling later in the day.

The new maple floor itself–an anchored resilient wood system that has a rubberized base, helping protect athletes’ ankles and knees–comes from Connor Sports Floor, which provided the surfaces at both NCAA Final Fours this season and whose corporate headquarters are located in Elk Grove, IL.
While waiting for the protective flooring to be placed for graduation several athletes walked on the new surface and it gained great reviews.
Flooring system, installation and painting is being done by Sports Floors, of Memphis, the same company that installed the floor at the FedEx Forum.
