Cunningham, TN – The stage was set for the annual Battle of the River game between Clarksville Academy Cougars and the Montgomery Central Indians. Both teams had come charging onto the field ready to play. The coin was tossed and the Indians would receive.
As dusk settled on the field, the switch for the lights was thrown and, nothing. The visitor side lights failed to come on.
The Montgomery Central High School Marching Band performed after the game cancellation Friday night.
Central officials scrambled to get the problem solved. But even after an electrician was called in, the game Friday night had to be canceled and rescheduled for Saturday, at noon. Admission will be free to the game.
Despite the game cancellation, the Montgomery Central High School Marching Band took the field to the roar of the Central crowd. Almost everyone stayed to watch their Marching Indians perform.
