Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan is announcing that all water restrictions, including voluntary restrictions, have been officially lifted.
“I appreciate everyone’s efforts as we have dealt with long periods of dry weather and incredible heat. The cooperation we received from our citizens meant that mandatory restrictions were only in place for a limited time. I’m happy to announce that the State has authorized Clarksville to lift all water restrictions at this time,” the Mayor said. Clarksville had been under voluntary water restrictions since the end of June.
“While we seem to be out of the woods for the summer, I encourage everyone to remain mindful about their water usage. Water conservation is important all the time,” Mayor McMillan said. “I also want to thank our employees at the Gas and Water Department who have worked hard to maintain adequate water levels through a very difficult time.”
“I’d like to reiterate the Mayor’s comments and thank the community for pulling together in following the water restrictions,” said Pat Hickey, Gas and Water General Manager.
