Lady Govs Andy Quiceno is the APSU Athlete of the Week

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Junior Andy Quiceno, of Austin Peay State University women’s soccer team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.

Quiceno scored the game-winning goal in each of the Lady Govs first two victories in 2012. Her 47th-minute goal at UALR came via breakaway, while her 78th-minute tally against Appalachian State was one of three second-half goals scored by the Lady Govs en route to the home-opening win.

The Houston, Texas native has attempted three shots during the early part of the season, with both shots put on goal finding their way to the back of the net.

The Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week is selected by the APSU Sports Information staff each Tuesday during the academic year. Copies in a Flash, of Clarksville, sponsors the award.

Other notable performances by Austin Peay athletes included:

Junior Tatiana Ariza, of the women’s soccer team, assisted on both the game-tying and game-winning goal against Appalachian State in her first regular-season action since returning from the 2012 London Olympics. She was named the CollegeSportsMadness.com OVC Player of the Week.

Sophomore Hillary Plybon, of the volleyball team, opened the 2012 season with a career-best 19 kills in the Lady Govs five-set victory at Memphis. She followed that up with a 15-kill outing against UALR on her way to All-Tournament honors at the Memphis Invitational.
