Mark Green announces Stewart County and Houston County Leadership
“I am proud to announce our Houston County Chairs, Betsy Ligon and Bob Mallory and our Stewart County Chair, Joe Darke. With people like Betsy, Bob and Joe standing with you and working tirelessly to ensure we win this campaign makes me want to work even harder,” Green said. Betsy has been involved in politics for over 38 years. Ligon served as City Mayor of Erin for three terms, served on city council, and is currently the Vice-Mayor. With two Master’s degrees, one in business and the other in Nursing, she has given her life to the healthcare industry. Ligon worked as the Nurse Administrator for Trinity Hospital Home Health then opened up a small business call Access Clinical Trials. Betsy currently resides in Houston County.Mallory has owned and operated a small business, Mallory’s Self Storage for years. Before that, he was employed at Travelers Insurance Company and served as their claim supervisor. He has also taught high school business and social studies in Montgomery County, and he has served as Assistant Director of the Fraud and Special Investigations unit for the Tennessee. Mallory has served three terms as Chairman of the Houston County Republican Party. He has been married to his wife, Patricia for 47 years. With deep family roots in Tennessee, Darke has resided in Stewart County for more than twenty years. Darke is employed by ACI and works in marketing and sales, which provides loyalty solutions to member associations. Darke currently resides in Dover with his wife, Ashlie, and son, Joey. “I’m thankful for the support of the hundreds of people in this community that will help me win this campaign. We have many loyal and talented volunteers that are out daily knocking on thousands of doors each week. Camie and I could not be more honored and blessed by their effort.” No stranger to service, Dr. Green was assigned to the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment as a special operations flight surgeon after completing his residency in emergency medicine in 2002 and served both Iraq and Afghanistan. A West Point graduate in Economics, he left the military after 16 years of service and decided to stay in Clarksville. Today, Dr. Green is the President and owner of AlignMD, an emergency department, hospitalist and urgent care management and staffing company based in Clarksville, which operates in five states and has brought $4 million in jobs to the community.
