Nashville Sounds Lose third straight game to Memphis Redbirds 10-1

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – Brock Peterson hit a pair of two-run homers to power the cross-state rival Memphis Redbirds to a 10-1 rout of the Nashville Sounds in the penultimate game of the season on Sunday evening at Greer Stadium.

After sweeping the Iowa Cubs to begin the eight-game homestand, Nashville (67-76) has dropped the first three contests of the four-game series to Memphis.

Austin Peay State University Lady GovsMemphis, TN – Junior Xiamar Richards slogged her way to a top-40 finish in Austin Peay State University women’s cross country mud-soaked season-opener, Friday, at the Brooks Memphis Twilight. The Lady Govs finished 12th as a team out of 21 schools.

Fort Campbell hosts U.S. Air Force 919th Special Operations Wing during Hurricane Isaac

 

Fort Campbell KY, 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – Just like its largest tenant the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), the service members and civilians at Fort Campbell adapt quickly to various situations on a daily basis.

This week the installation adapted to come to the aid of eight MC-130E Combat Talon I aircraft from the Air Force Reserve’s 711th Special Operations Squadron, 919th Special Operations Wing from Duke Field, FL. The 919th SOW moved the aircraft here for safety during the severe weather created by Hurricane Isaac.

Austin Peay State University Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s soccer team ran roughshod over visiting Chattanooga, Sunday, at Morgan Brothers Field. Two goals from junior Tatiana Ariza, including the game-winner, led the Lady Govs to a 4-1 victory against the Mocs.

“It was a great game for us,” said head coach Kelley Guth. “We put the pieces of the puzzle together today. We talked after our loss Friday about executing better and they really did it today.”

Fort Defiance Video “Crossroads of Change” Earns Award for Editing Excellence

The Aurora Awards are an independent and international film and video competition.
