APSU Sports: Austin Peay Men’s Cross Country
Memphis, TN – In stormy conditions and on a muddy track, the Austin Peay men’s cross country team opened its season at the Brooks Memphis Twilight, Saturday, with a 20th-place team finish.

Junior Konnor Kessler paced the Govs with a 23:50.32s four-mile run, placing 114th. Junior Tyler Kepley (120th, 23:54.53s) and senior Geofrey Kosgei (148th, 24:36.21s) were right behind him on the muddy course at the Mike Rose Soccer Complex.
Sophomore David Fratterelli (161st, 24:51.79s) and junior Genaro Martinez (201st, 27:43.99s) rounded out the top five for the Govs.
“We did not have a good meet,” said head coach Doug Molnar. “We had a late start and bad conditions. Fortunately, we have a short turn around this week.”
Austin Peay will have to rebound quickly, with Friday’s Powerade Invitational in Chattanooga the next scheduled event for the Govs.
