Event Will Help Commemorate Tennessee State Parks’ 75th Anniversary
Gallatin, TN – The year 2012 marks Tennessee State Parks’ 75th Anniversary, and to help commemorate this important milestone, Bledsoe Creek State Park will host a special music festival on Saturday, September 8th, beginning at 11:00am through 6:00pm. This event is free and open to the public.

APSU Sports: Austin Peay Volleyball
Tuscaloosa, AL – For the second consecutive season,’s volleyball team will compete in the Hampton Inn Bama Bash, hosted by Alabama, this weekend at Foster Auditorium.
Austin Peay (2-8) has been playing a frenetic schedule with 10 matches in the season’s first 11 days. The Lady Govs will tack on four more matches in this weekend’s event, beginning with a 2:00pm, Friday contest against East Tennessee.
Clarksville, TN – On September 6th, 2012, around 9:24am, Clarksville Police were called to the area in front of Kiddieland Day Nursery located at 207 Chapel Street, for a shooting in progress.
The nursery took immediate action to safeguard the children and employees that were all inside at the time of the shooting and took action to assist the shooting victims.
Officers arrived on scene in 3 minutes and found a 22 year old woman and a 25 year old man that had been shot.

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville’s Downtown Market at Public Square has been voted #1 in the state of Tennessee and #19 in the nation for large markets, in the 2012 America’s Favorite Farmers Markets contest which is hosted each year by American Farmland Trust. This is the third year in a row the Clarksville Downtown Market has won first place in the state of Tennessee.

Clarksville, TN – Junior Tatiana Ariza, ofwomen’s soccer team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.
Ariza scored twice in the Lady Govs 4-1 victory against Chattanooga, Sunday, to even the Lady Govs record at 3-3-0. Her game-winner in the 28th minute was the 11th game-winning goal she has recorded in her Austin Peay career.
Clarksville, TN – Premier Medical Group is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Ashley Blankenship to their Pediatric specialty practice.
Dr. Blankenship, a native of West Memphis, Arkansas, studied at Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas and received her doctorate degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock. She completed her residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.

Clarksville, TN – Due to inclement weather, the Movies in the Park event scheduled for September 1st, 2012 at Heritage Park Soccer fields had to be cancelled. The showing has been rescheduled for Saturday, October 20th, 2012.
The event will feature two movies from the 80’s, “The Princess Bride” followed by “The Goonies” – both movies are rated PG.
