Tatiana Ariza is the APSU Athlete of the Week

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Junior Tatiana Ariza, of Austin Peay State University women’s soccer team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.

Ariza scored twice in the Lady Govs 4-1 victory against Chattanooga, Sunday, to even the Lady Govs record at 3-3-0. Her game-winner in the 28th minute was the 11th game-winning goal she has recorded in her Austin Peay career.

Ariza led the Lady Govs with 17 shots, with eight on goal for the weekend. Her two goals against Chattanooga were also her sixth career multi-goal game.This is her third career APSU Copies in a Flash Athlete of the Week honor.

The Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week is selected by the APSU Sports Information staff each Tuesday during the academic year. Copies in a Flash, of Clarksville, sponsors the award.

Other notable performances by Austin Peay athletes included:

Senior Wes Kitts, of the football team, ran for 104 yards on just 10 carries (10.4 ypc) in the Govs season-opening loss at Western Kentucky, Saturday. His 68-yard touchdown run in the third quarter accounted for the Govs lone touchdown and tied his career-long rush.

Sophomore Jada Stotts, of the volleyball team, was named to the all-tournament team at the University Plaza Invitational, hosted by Missouri State, after recording 65 kills in 14 sets (4.64 kps). She led the team in kills in all four matches, highlighted by a career-best 22 kills against UALR.
