Tuscaloosa, AL – Sophomore outside hitter Jada Stotts recorded a career-high 27 kills but‘s volleyball team could not find a way past host Alabama, falling in four sets (23-25, 21-25, 25-14, 22-25) in the Hampton Inn Bama Bash, Saturday night, at Foster Auditorium.

Oxford, OH –women’s soccer team couldn’t get the offense in gear at Miami (Ohio), Friday, falling to the Redhawks 4-0 at Miami Soccer Field.
Clarksville, TN – Due to an incoming line severe thunderstorms, the first night of Riverfest was cut short, the festival closed at 10:00pm about an hour earlier than expected in order to allow people time to get away before the storms hit.
The Journey Tribute Band Chain Reaction was on the Budweiser Stage, and lead singer Ryan Christopher showed a lot of class when he decided that the band would limit their performance to the more popular Journey songs in order to get as many of them in as possible because their performance might be cut short.
This decision proved wise as in the middle of their performance the stage manager slipped them a note informing them of the decision to institute the 10:00pm shutdown time. More on the first day of the 2012 Riverfest Celebration will be posted at 6:00am on Saturday morning.

Chattanooga, TN – After a difficult opening weekend,men’s cross country team showed marked improvement at Friday’s Powerade Invitational, hosted by Chattanooga. The Govs placed fourth out of six squads at the meet.

Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation today removed a Milan, Tennessee man from the state’s Top Ten Most Wanted list after he was captured in Norfolk, VA late yesterday along with another individual who was picked up on an illegal weapons charge.

Tuscaloosa, AL –’s volleyball team put on a show of offensive efficiency and routed East Tennessee in three sets (25-9, 25-10, 26-24) in its opening contest of the Hampton Inn Bama Bash, Friday, at Foster Auditorium.
Clarksville, TN – Three men that had fled from an Aggravated Robbery were taken into custody after driving up to Clarksville Police at the scene of a vehicle off the roadway in a ditch.
A man’s quick thinking got help on the way during an Aggravated Robbery. Three men, John Abraham, Dakota Ebel, and Raymond Romero planned to rob an acquaintance that they believed had “weed” and money.
