After Committing Robbery, Men drive up to Clarksville Police in roadway
A man’s quick thinking got help on the way during an Aggravated Robbery. Three men, John Abraham, Dakota Ebel, and Raymond Romero planned to rob an acquaintance that they believed had “weed” and money. On September 7th, 2012, around 12:30am, two 18 year old men went to 763 Needmore Road to visit a friend. When they got out of the vehicle, they were approached by three men wearing bandanas, one with a handgun, asking about the friend they came to visit. The two men were forced to go to the house to see whether their friend was home. The friend was not there but the door was answered by his father. Abraham, Ebel, and Romero entered the house and one of them held a knife to the father’s head and told him to call his son. The father, thinking quick on his feet, dialed 911 instead of his son and acted as though he was explaining the situation to his son. In the meantime, one of the robbers searched the house for valuables. At some point, one of the suspects realized that 911 had been dialed and all three of the would-be robbers ran from the residence and got into a red hatchback car. When Police arrived, they would told by one of the victims they knew two of the suspects, since they had previously been friends. The vehicle and suspect descriptions were distributed over the Police radio system. A short time later, the vehicle and suspects drove past officers on Needmore Road with a vehicle in a ditch. Officers recognized the vehicle as the one described in the robbery and stopped it. The men inside were determined to be the robbery suspects. They were transported to the detective division and interviewed by Detectives Kevin Rushing and Rodney Lifsey. The three men admitted to their involvement in the robbery.
