Man Holds a Knife against Teenager’s Throat gets Subdued by Witnesses and Held for Clarksville Police

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – On September 8th, 2012, around 10:30pm, Clarksville Police were called to an Aggravated Assault which occurred outside of a business at the 600 Block of North Riverside Drive.

A 15 year old heard the sounds of a fight outside of the business and went over to see what was happening. As he walked toward the area of the fight, he was approached by Michael Joel Powers and told to leave.

Suddenly, Powers grabbed the teenager by the shirt, pulled out a knife, and held it up to his throat.  Witnesses who saw what was going on, subdued Powers and held him until Police arrived.
