Clarksville, TN – The weekly Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department Recreation Report provides Clarksvillians with a glimpse at the activities and events that are available from the Parks and Recreation Department for them to enjoy together as a family.
This weeks highlights include:
The City of Clarksville and U.S. Bank will soon be jammin’ once again, Friday, September 21st in downtown Clarksville’s Strawberry Alley. This month’s free concert will feature four good ole boys from the backwoods of Clarksville, Tennessee.
Don’t let that fool you, because they know how to rock! Their band, Backroad Brigade, is like no other bands of their generation. Instead of power pop or death metal, they keep the sound of good, old-fashioned rock and roll alive.
Free concerts take place every third Friday of the month thru October and begin at 7:00pm. In addition to the live music and market vendors, downtown restaurants will offer outdoor dining for Jammin’ in the Alley and night market patrons. Come ready to eat, dance and shop!
For a complete schedule, go to www.parksafterdark.com .
Children and parents can enjoy interactive story time as the storytellers from L.E.A.P. (Leadership Enlightenment Academic Achievement and Perseverance) bring to life stories from cultures across the Globe. Program is held at the Kleeman Community Center once a month.
Join us September 24th from 6:00pm-7:00pm, to hear “Discover America State By State Alphabet Series” Event is free. Community Center ID card is required.
On September 26th-30th a key piece of military history will be on the banks of the Cumberland River in Clarksville, TN. Join us at McGregor Park as we welcome the LST-325. The LST crew will provide a rare glimpse into this floating monument as visitors are able to climb aboard and explore the ship. Military enthusiasts, history buffs, and school groups will learn how it was instrumental in battles dating back to WWII.
Groups of 10 or more will receive special admission pricing. To get more information on group rates, contact Doug Barber at 931-245-4344 or email firstname.lastname@example.org .
