Clarksville Police Need the Public’s Assistance in Locating Danyon Lydell Dowlen
Clarksville, TN – A man, Danyon Lydell Dowlen, is wanted by Clarksville Police for questioning in the shooting death of Charles Wilbert Sims (also known as Tutu) and has a warrant on file for Felon in Possession of a Firearm; Bond $100,000.
Police are looking for Dowlen and believe he is in the local area, but may be trying to flee from Clarksville.
An eyewitness came forward and advised law enforcement that Danyon Dowlen and Charles Sims were involved in a gun fight within the same area where the Sims’ body was found.
While processing the crime scene, several shell casing were located and a firearm was collected corroborating the eyewitness statement. Detective Chestnut seized a vehicle that was driven by Danyon Dowlen at the time of the incident.
A check of Dowlen’s criminal history attests to the fact that Dowlen has been convicted of several felonies and is a threat to the City of Clarksville and Montgomery County Community.
Detective Chestnut’s investigation revealed the confrontation between Charles Sims and Danyon Dowlen stems from the fact that Sims has a relationship with the mother of Danyon’s child. According to several residents in the area, Dowlen had previously assaulted Sims, but it was never reported to Police.
