Austin Peay Governors Tennis opens season at Louisville Invitational

APSU Sports: Austin Peay Men’s Tennis

Austin Peay State University GovernorsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University men’s tennis team will compete in the Louisville Fall Invitational, beginning at 9:00am, Friday in Louisville, KY.

The Governors open the season as one of the 13 schools participating in the tournament, including Arkansas, Chicago State, Murray State, Kentucky, Eastern Kentucky, Morehead State, Tennessee Tech, Youngstown State and Louisville.

The tournament will be comprised of three singles divisions and two doubles flights with a main draw, along with consolation play. Senior Sean Bailey will be competing in his first tournament this season; Bailey posted a team-best 21 wins last season.

Sophomore Aleksas Tverijonas, ranked No. 434 worldwide, will be competing this weekend as well. Once 391st in the world, sophomore Dimitar Ristovski will make an appearance this weekend in Louisville.

Following this weekend’s match, the Govs return home to host the APSU Fall tournament next Friday-Sunday.
