Austin Peay Athlete of the Week Sean Bailey

Clarksville, TN – Senior Sean Bailey, of Austin Peay State University men’s tennis team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.
Bailey advanced to the semifinals of Flight A at last weekend’s Louisville Fall Invitational. He defeated opponents from Kentucky, Tennessee Tech and Youngstown State before losing to top overall seed and eventual champion Chris Simich 6-4, 6-3.
The Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week is selected by the APSU Sports Information staff each Tuesday during the academic year. Copies in a Flash, of Clarksville, sponsors the award.
Other notable performances by Austin Peay athletes included:
- Senior Wes Kitts, of the Austin Peay football team, ran for 118 yards on 23 carries in the Govs home-opening loss to UT Martin. It was Kitts third 100-yard performance in four games this season.
- Junior middle blocker Lauren Henderson, of the Austin Peay volleyball team, tied a career-best with 16 kills and had six blocks in loss to Jacksonville. She followed up with seven kills, three service aces and three blocks in win against Tennessee Tech.
- Senior Lauren Bond, of the women’s golf team, tied for seventh at the Drake Creek Challenge, shooting a three-day 226 (76-74-76) and recording a tournament-best 10 birdies to lead the Lady Govs to a seventh-place team finish.
