APSU Sports: Austin Peay Women’s Cross Country
Clarksville, TN – Three weeks removed from its last competition, Austin Peay State University women’s cross country team hits the course again, Saturday, at the Greater Louisville Cross Country Classic, hosted by the Louisville Sports Commission. The first of three women’s races are scheduled to begin at 10:15am.

Juniors Xiamar Richards and Kendra Kirksey and senior Chantelle Grey each finished in the top 10 at the Powerade Invitational, September 7th. The trio led the Lady Govs to a third-place team finish and now owns three of the top four all-time bests in the two mile run.
The Lady Govs have trained hard since then, preparing to enter a stretch of the schedule with three meets in three weeks. Head coach Doug Molnar has been pleased with the work he’s seen from his team.
“It’s a good course for us to get back out there on,” Molnar said. “It’s flat and fast. The competition is going to be great and I hope to see a lot of personal bests out of the group this weekend.”
