Jammin’ in the Alley to close out the season with “Ten Strings and Tom”, “Chris Robertson”, and “Tres Hombres”

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville together with U.S. Bank will be Jammin’ in Strawberry Alley once more this season on Friday, October 19th, 2012. Join us for this month’s free concert beginning at 7:00pm.

The concert features trio, “Ten Strings and Tom”, named for the instruments in their band- six string guitar, four string bass, and a Tom or one drum of a drum set. Members include Syd Hedrick (Guitar and Vocals), Skip Clark (Bass), and Tom Nadeau (Drums). They’ll be sure to keep your toes tapping performing songs of other famous power trios like Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble, The Jimi Hendrix Experience and others.

Chris Robertson and band, known for years as “Country Music Band”, will take you back to Bakersfield, down to Austin, and over to Nashville from the 60’s to the 80’s with their fun and energetic renditions of true country music. Performance will include several Chris Robertson penned songs as well, which delve into the realm of the real world blue collar man. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to hear one of Clarksville’s favorite sons.

The final performance of the evening will be the best little ol’band this side of the Mississippi, Tres Hombres. This power trio and ZZ Top tribute won’t disappoint with the shuffle of fuzz and distortion sliding off of Syd Hedrick’s strings or fat bottom bliss bouncing off of Skip Clark’s Bass.

In addition to the live music, downtown restaurants will offer outdoor dining for Jammin’ in the Alley patrons. Come ready to eat, dance and shop!

Strawberry Alley will be closed to through traffic starting at 1:00pm on Friday. Starting at 3:00pm, the lower employee parking lot of City Hall will be closed. However, drive-throughs for U.S. Bank and Regions Bank will be accessible, as well as the upper City Hall parking lot.

Special thanks to our sponsors for their support to make free outdoor concerts possible. Jammin’ in the Alley sponsors include The Leaf-Chronicle, Clarksville Family Magazine, Lamar Advertising, Discover Clarksville, and Clarksville Online.
