Tennessee History Festival to be held at Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park October 19th-20th

 

Event Will Help Commemorate Tennessee State Parks’ 75th Anniversary

Tennessee State Parks 75th AnniversaryNashville, TN – The year 2012 marks Tennessee State Parks’ 75th Anniversary, and to help commemorate this important milestone, Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park will host its annual Tennessee’s History Festival October 19th-20th.

With a focus on Tennessee’s 216 years of statehood, the event blends education and entertainment, allowing school groups and families to experience day-to-day soldier life in history.  In year’s past, the festival has drawn more than 6,000 visitors to the park.

Austin Peay State University GovernorsRichmond, KY – No. 23 Eastern Kentucky University jumped out to a 21-0 first-half lead and was never headed as it defeated Austin Peay State University, 45-14, Saturday, in Ohio Valley Conference football action at Roy Kidd Stadium

The victory improved the Colonels, the OVC preseason favorite and defending co-champs, to 5-2 overall and 3-1 in the league.

The Lady Govs finished fourth out of six squads in the two-mile race, with host Chattanooga taking the overall team title.

Sign Ups for the Salvation Army Angel Tree begins soon

 

Clarksville, TN – The Salvation Army’s Christmas Assistance program will be taking applications October 22nd-26th and October 29th-November 2nd at 210 Kraft Street, Clarksville, for residents of Montgomery County, Stewart County, and Houston County.
