Austin Peay Lady Govs Golf to host F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate starting MondayAPSU Sports: Austin Peay Women’s Golf
“We are looking forward to playing at home and hosting the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate,” said APSU coach Sara Robson said. “The Lady Govs and I would like to thank F&M Bank for once again being our tournament sponsor.” The Lady Govs not only are ready to return the course for the first time since mid-September, they are welcoming back Robson, who was on maternity leave after giving birth to Kaitlyn Hope on July 27th. With Robson out, assistant Chelsea Harris, who was a four-year star for the Lady Govs, coached the team to a pair of seventh-place finishes against some challenging fields. The Lady Govs, in fact, posted some of their top scores in program history. “The girls have been playing well and have had a great start to our season,” Robson said. “We have three busy weeks coming up and I know they are going to play well. “Chelsea did an amazing job during my absence and the girls have been working hard and motivating each other. We would love nothing more than to continue our great play and have a good showing her at home this week.” The tourney has returned to the Country Club, which hosted the tourney for its first 12 years, after a one-year respite at the Links of Novadell. The Lady Govs are seeking to win the tourney for the first time since 2002. “We have a great tournament field that includes six other OVC schools,” Robson said. “We have the advantage of being familiar with the very difficult and very fast Clarksville Country Club greens and hope to use that to our advantage.” About the F&M Bank APSU IntercollegiateWomen’s Tournament
