City of Clarksville IT Director Doug Sampley Resigns

City of ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan is announcing that Doug Sampley, Director of the IT Department for the City of Clarksville, will be leaving to explore a new opportunity.

“I have truly enjoyed my time here and it has been a pleasure to serve the citizens of Clarksville. This is one of those rare instances when opportunity unexpectedly knocked. This was a very tough decision for me but I believe it’s the right decision for me and my family,” Mr. Sampley said.

“Doug has provided the City of Clarksville with a tremendous amount of expertise and dedication,” said Mayor Kim McMillan.  “Under his direction, just in the past year, we have designed and installed a new website, begun broadcasting on television and updated the City’s technological infrastructure and capabilities. He has provided terrific ideas and strong leadership and I will miss working with him as will everyone in City Hall. I wish him the very best as he moves into this new opportunity.”

“These are very exciting times in Clarksville. From a technology standpoint, I know there are goals for building on what we’ve already accomplished and we have a Mayor who is committed to making the most of our resources. The next director can be confident that he or she will have tremendous support from the administration and the IT group,” Mr. Sampley said.

Mr. Sampley’s resignation will be effective November 2nd, 2012. The search for a new Director of Information Technology will begin immediately. Information about the position will be posted on the City’s website at www.cityofclarksville.com under the “Job Postings” section.
