Go Commando Half Marathon & 5k Powered by CDE Lightband Road Closures Announced

Go Commando Half Marathon and 5kClarksville, TN – Road closures for this weekend have been announced for the 2nd Annual Go Commando Half Marathon & 5k powered by CDE Lightband in downtown Clarksville.

The following streets will be experience intermittent delays from 7:00am until 11:30am on Saturday, October 20th, 2012.

Road Closures

Riverside Drive from Highway 48/13 to Spring Street. Lanes will be open for vehicular traffic but runners will use lanes closest to the Cumberland River.

River Road and Mayhew Road Access will be open to residents only. Residents are asked to be mindful of the runners.

Downtown Clarksville. Runners will use Spring, Marion, Main, Seventh, Franklin, Tenth and Commerce Streets downtown.  Zinc Plant Bridge will also experience intermittent delays but the bridge across Highway 48/13 will be open.

All streets will be completely open by 11:30am at the latest.

Parking

On Saturday, October 20th runners are encouraged to park at the parking garage on Commerce and Second Street and walk to the start line. The start line is at the corner of Commerce and Riverside Drive near Mag’s Coffee Shop.

Spectators are asked to park at the Two Rivers Center and walk to McGregor Park. The finish line will be at McGregor Park Boat Ramp and the After Party will be held at McGregor Park near the RiverCenter.

About the Go Commando Half Marathon & 5k

The Go Commando Half Marathon & 5k powered by CDE Lightband began in 2011 as a community event to promote health & wellness to Clarksville and the Fort Campbell community. All monies raised by the event will go back into local community programs.

In 2012, there will be 1500 people participating in the half marathon and 5k.
