Liberty Park Grand Opening this afternoon

Liberty Park - Clarksville MarinaClarksville, TN – Tuesday afternoon, October 23rd, Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan  will cut the ribbon marking the official grand opening of Liberty Park.

Activities will begin at 3:30pm and will conclude at 7:30pm. There will be face painting, a balloon artist, a display of some of the City’s fire and police vehicles, archery, performances by a local dance group and an exhibition by the Clarksville Police Department’s K-9 Unit.

Mayor McMillan will cut the ribbon at Freedom Point at 5:30pm and the Wilma Rudolph Event Center will be officially opened at 6:30pm. Chain Reaction, a local Journey tribute band will provide entertainment beginning at 6:00pm on the Great Lawn. Also beginning at 6:30pm, food samples will be provided by pre-approved caterers.

“I am so excited that we are going to host the official grand opening of Liberty Park next week,” said the Mayor. “I know people have already been enjoying the fishing pond, walking on the trails, and even practicing on the sports fields. I want the whole City to know that the park is complete and ready to enjoy. This is going to be a very special celebration.”

Information will be provided about the Park including the wetlands, the fishing pond, bicycling, running/walking trails and details about renting the facilities on the park property. Information will also be available in the pavilion at Freedom Pointe for anyone considering holding a wedding and/or reception at one of the Park’s facilities. Anyone who wants to purchase a key fob for access to the King’s Run Bark Park will be able to do so during the event as well. There will also be a prize giveaway that afternoon.

“This is going to be a celebration for the entire family,” the Mayor said. “There will be music, activities, entertainment and plenty of room for picnics and fun. We want people to experience everything Liberty Park has to offer.”
