Austin Peay Governors Football late rally comes up short in Homecoming loss to Southeast Missouri

Austin Peay State University GovernorsClarksville, TN – It was a play that was a microcosm of the season.

Trailing 38-7 late in the third quarter, Saturday afternoon in Governors Stadium, Austin Peay State University’s football team had erased a large part of its 31-point deficit. With the score 41-27 and the Govs sitting on the Southeast Missouri two-yard line with a little less than 3:30 left in the game, Jake Ryan handed off to Reco Williams-one of the central figures in the Govs comeback.

Tennessee Titans Chris Johnson Wins FedEx Ground NFL Player of the Week

 

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – The NFL announced today that quarterback Drew Brees of the New Orleans Saints and running back Chris Johnson of the Tennessee Titans are the FedEx Air & Ground NFL Players of the Week for games played on October 18th-22nd.

Brees completed 27 of 37 passes for 377 yards and four touchdowns in the Saints’ 35-28 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Johnson gained 195 yards on 18 carries and scored twice in the Titans’ 35-34 victory over the Buffalo Bills. «Read the rest of this article»

Police Academy Graduates Prepare to Hit the Clarksville Streets

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – The newest Police Academy graduates will soon be hitting the streets. The seven officers graduated from the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy on October 12th, 2012.

The officers excelled during their 10 weeks at the academy. Two officers, Chris Bailey and Robert Blamer were ranked number two and three, respectively, in their graduating class of 48 officers.

Blackhorse Pub and Brewery chefs give culinary tips to Fort Campbell’s Oasis Dining Facility Cooks

5th Special ForcesFort Campbell, KY – Brandon Crotzer and Zachary Matthews, chefs from The Blackhorse Pub and Brewery in Clarksville, Tennessee, provide tips and techniques for preparing pizza to Pfc. Robert Archuleta, a cook from the 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne), at the Oasis Dining Facility on Fort Campbell, KY, October 23rd, 2012.

This was the second culinary training opportunity for the staff of The Oasis in a little over a month and provided those that ate at the dining facility a ‘taste of the Blackhorse.’ The Oasis Dining Facility, located on Kentucky Avenue (Building 2991), is open for breakfast and lunch, Monday thru Friday, and is open to the public (guests must obtain a pass to get on post).

What could you possibly have been thinking? The ad you have launched featuring a young actress equating voting for you to a sexual act is offensive to me, to millions of women and to the stature of the office you hold. As a father of two beautiful girls, how could you possibly have allowed this to be aired? Did you approve this? Did someone on your campaign staff actually think this was a good idea?

It is offensive, repulsive and should be removed immediately. It is beneath the dignity of the office you hold. Mr. President, are you and your Democrat colleagues so focused on sex and reproductive rights that you really think that is the single motivator for women?
