APSU Sports: Austin Peay Men’s Cross Country
Oxford, AL – Austin Peay State University men’s cross country team placed 10th at Saturday’s Ohio Valley Conference Cross Country Championships, hosted by Jacksonville State at the Oxford Lake and Recreation Center.

Juggernaut Eastern Kentucky won its seventh consecutive team title, with the top eight individual finishers in the field. Eastern Illinois (70 points) and Southeast Missouri (76 points) battled valiantly for second place.
For the Govs, senior Konnor Kessler capped off a strong season by leading the Govs across the line at the OVC Championships. He finished 42nd, with a 26:25.21 mark.
Senior Geofrey Kosgei (46th, 26:38.69) and junior Tyler Kepley (49th, 26:41.73) both placed in the top-50 in the men’s 8K race.
Freshman Austin Dabbs had his best race as a Gov, finishing 72nd with a career-best 28:49.38 mark. Sophomore David Frattarelli (75th, 29:20.12) rounded out the scoring for the Govs, while junior Genaro Martinez (77th, 29:51.02) also competed.
“I’m happy with the improvement from the men,” said head coach Doug Molnar. “They faced a really tough field out there today.”
