Candidate for Clarksville City Council – Ward 9.

Election 2012Clarksville, TN – There has been an overwhelming amount of media concerning Ward 9 this year which has been generally negative, and I find that disappointing. Ward 9′s new boundaries provide an amazing cross-section of Clarksville, and epitomizes the qualities that are unique and special about our community.

I contend that Ward 9 represents the heart of Clarksville between it’s new and expanding development, in addition to the renovation of existing and established neighborhoods. There are four candidates that each have unique backgrounds and experiences to bring to our City, and I am proud there is such a high level of interest in making our City the best it can be.

Clarksville City Council Ward 9 Candidate Brandon A. Knox.

My campaign has been a homegrown approach of support from friends, family, and neighbors to speak about what I can bring to the City if elected. I have been raised in Clarksville since 1989 when my family first moved here as a result of my father being stationed at Fort Campbell, Kentucky.

I am proud to say that I have completed my entire education while in Clarksville. My primary education was through the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System. I attended first grade at Norman Smith Elementary School and graduated from Northeast High School. I continued my education in Clarksville, while I obtained a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology from Austin Peay State University.

As a child growing up in this specific area of town, I have a unique understanding of our Ward’s strengths and weaknesses. I simply want to provide true representation that keeps our area’s priorities as the ultimate goal.

I have been employed at Mid-South Motoplex since July 1999 and have acted as the Business Manager since January 2005. As the Business Manager, it is my responsibility to find unique solutions to people’s situations and work toward a compromise that satisfies everyone. This will directly correlate with my ability to provide solid, unbiased representation not only for our Ward, but Clarksville as a whole.

I am also responsible for processing time-sensitive material related to the funding of transactions and executing quality control and compliance with extensive and thorough documentation. This experience from the business sector will provide insight and direction when it comes to handling the City’s budget in a fiscally responsible manner while making difficult choices that go beyond the scope of one term in office.

I want to express my gratitude for the community’s interest in our City and support with my campaign for City Council. Early voting continues through, Thursday, November 1st, 2012 at 6:00pm. The location for early voting is the Election Commission beside the Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library located at 350 Pageant Lane, Suite 404 [3].
