Austin Peay State University Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s basketball team hosts NAIA member Martin Methodist in a 7:00pm, Monday contest at the Dunn Center that will serve as its lone preseason exhibition test.

The Lady Govs are 5-1 in exhibition contests under head coach Carrie Daniels, including five consecutive wins against NAIA competition.

101st Airborne Division’s 3rd Brigade Combat Team helps Afghan National Security Forces one step closer

Fort Campbell KY, 101st Airborne DivisionRakkasanPaktya Province, Afghanistan – Afghan National Security Forces demonstrated their ever-increasing ability to conduct independent counter insurgent operations in Chamkani district near the Pakistan border October 23rd, 2012.

Members of the Afghan Uniformed Police, Afghan Border Police and Afghan Local Police successfully coordinated and executed a security mission, while soldiers of Company C, 1st Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team “Rakkasans,” 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), augmented security and intelligence support.

Austin Peay State University Lady GovsMartin, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s soccer team battled regular season champion  UT Martin in Sunday’s Ohio Valley Conference Championship match but two late goals by the hosts were too much for the Lady Govs to overcome. Austin Peay fell to UT Martin, 2-0, in the 2012 OVC Tournament Championship match at Skyhawk Field.

Clarksville Police release name of Man killed in Friday night’s Club Shooting

 

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department has released the name of the shooting victim at C-Ray’s Social Club on Fort Campbell Boulevard Friday, November 3rd. The deceased man’s name is Malcolm Rashaad Wright (DOB: 12/31/91) of Clarksville Tennessee.

There are no new developments in the investigation.

Operation ‘Finally Home’, LP Building Products to Build Homes for Wounded Veterans

 

First home recipient, Fort Campbell Corporal Christopher Bales revealed during Tennessee Titans Veterans Day Game

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – Operation ‘Finally Home’ has joined forces with LP Building Products, country star Kix Brooks and American Country Countdown to build six homes for deserving veterans across the country over the next two years.

The first home will be built in Las Vegas, NV, in 2013 for wounded Fort Campbell soldier Army Cpl. Christopher Bales. The announcement was made to Bales on LP Field in front of thousands of fans during the Tennessee Titans Veterans Day game.

Clarksville Street Department Fall Yard Debris Pick Up

City of ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Street Department will pick up your yard debris if it is in paper yard bags and if your branches/limbs are less than 3 feet long. All of your yard debris needs to be stacked in your yard close to the street.

APSU students and local Hispanic community to get launguage help from New service-learning class

 

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – On a recent Tuesday night, a group of Austin Peay State University students gathered inside a local church – Iglesia Casa de Restauracion. About half of the students went into a makeshift classroom to help adult members of the Clarksville Hispanic community learn English.

At the end of the 45-minute lesson, those Hispanic students then became the teachers, helping the APSU students with their Spanish skills.

APSU Spanish 2000 students and members of the local Hispanic community meet at the Iglesia Casa de Restauracion Church for a new service-learning ESL course.
