Second Annual Survivor Spa Day at Miller-Motte Technical College

Survivor Spa Day Celebrates Breast Cancer Survivors with the YMCA’s ABC (After Breast Cancer) Program

Clarksville, TN – Miller-Motte Technical College and the Clarksville YMCA’s ABC (After Breast Cancer) Program are working together to celebrate the community’s breast cancer survivors.

The month of October is breast cancer awareness month and ABC has participated in several events honoring the program’s participants during October.

The Second Annual Survivor Spa Day at Miller-Motte is being held in November this year to extend breast cancer awareness and invite survivors to experience spa treatments allowing Miller-Motte to share their knowledge and training with deserving community members. This is a little bit of pampering at no cost to those who are breast cancer survivors, or are currently receiving treatment and ABC Program members.

The event is Thursday, November 15th, 2012 at 221 Dunbar Cave Road, Suite E, in the Miller-Motte cosmetology and esthetics building from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. The cosmetology and esthetics students have planned an evening offering make-up application, mini manicures, mini facials, hand treatments, brow shaping, and scalp treatments.

“This event is a chance for Miller-Motte students to give back to the community to those who have suffered through and survived breast cancer. The students are very excited to pamper these special clients,” said program director Kristy Jenkins.

ABC is a program offered through the YMCA for those who have been diagnosed and are recovering from breast cancer.

No YMCA membership is necessary to participate in this program.
