Clarksville, TN – Senior quarterback Jake Ryan, of the Austin Peay State University football team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.
Ryan re-wrote the Austin Peay record book, Saturday, against Jacksonville State. He was 40-of-61 passing – setting Austin Peay records for pass completions and attempts – for a career-high 375 yards and three touchdowns.

He becomes the first Austin Peay quarterback to ever attempt more than 60 passes in a game, breaking Brian Baker’s school-record 58 attempts against Virginia-Wise in 1999. He also became the first Austin Peay quarterback to complete 40 passes in a game since Baker in that 1999 contest.
The Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week is selected by the APSU Sports Information staff each Tuesday during the academic year. Copies in a Flash, of Clarksville, sponsors the award.
Other notable performances by Austin Peay athletes included
- Junior guard Travis Betran, of the men’s basketball team, scored 13 points in his Austin Peay debut against Samford to nab OVC Newcomer of the Week honors in the first week of the 2012-13 campaign.
- Sophomore setter Cami Fields, of the volleyball team, recorded 30 assists in both matches last week. Her 35-assist, 10-dig effort led the Lady Govs to a 3-0 sweep of Murray State.
- Sophomore forward Chris Freeman, of the men’s basketball team, came off the bench for an 11-point, 12-rebound night in just 18 minutes of action against Samford, his first career double-double effort.
