Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Recovers Amber Alert Victim

Suspects facing charges

Tennessee Bureau of InvestigationNashville, TN – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation recovered the 2-month-old victim of an overnight abduction and AMBER Alert after the suspect, knowing he was wanted, turned the infant over to a TBI agent and other U.S. Marshals Task Force officers who returned the infant to the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office this morning.

An AMBER Alert was issued for Eric Goolsby who was taken by 38-year-old Eric Owens, of Antioch, Tenn. On November 13th, 2012, the Gallatin Police Department was contacted by the victim’s current guardian for assistance in finding the child.

The custodian reported that the child’s non-custodial mother, 24-year-old Chasity Goolsby, of Hendersonville, Tenn. came to her residence and spoke to Owens by phone. Owens, who believes he is the baby’s father, showed up at the residence and took the infant without the custodian’s permission or knowledge and left the area.

After a preliminary investigation, the Gallatin Police Department requested TBI assistance and an AMBER Alert was issued. Owens had warrants issued for his arrest for especially aggravated kidnapping and custodial interference. He was booked into the Sumner County Jail this morning after the infant was recovered.

The baby’s mother, Chasity Goolsby, lost custody of the child through Sumner County Juvenile Court on November 9th, 2012, is also wanted for especially aggravated kidnapping and custodial interference for this incident. She is also wanted out of Davidson County for prostitution, theft of property and possession or casual exchange of a controlled substance in Davidson County. She remains at large.
