Clarksville TN – Embattled Clarksville Building and Codes Director, Les Crocker, has been granted an extension on the deadline set by Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan to show why she shouldn’t fire him.
Crocker originally had until today to respond to the mayor.
In a story first reported by Clarksville Online, Crocker was placed on thirty days paid administrative leave, and barring any change in circumstances, Crocker’s last day working with the city will be November 21st. There were numerous reasons for the mayor’s decision, including poor record keeping, costing the city over $500,000 in fines and abatement fees, poor morale in his department, and Crocker’s refusal to address the problems in Building and Codes that had been identified in a recent audit of his department.
Clarksville Online has asked Mayor McMillans office for a copy of Crocker’s request for an extension and if there has been another date set for Crocker to respond to the mayor’s decision. City hall has not responded to that request at this time.
