APSU Sports: Austin Peay Baseball
Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s baseball team will again have a brotherly tandem in the field as Kenny Corey, of Willow Bend, CA, will join his brother, Kevin, after signing a National Letter of Intent.

Corey, a 6-1, 150-pound, infielder, will play his senior year at Willow Bend High School after spending the two previous seasons at Los Gatos High School. He batted .331 as a junior with eight doubles and 21 RBI and was named to the DeAnza Conference all-league squad. As a sophomore, Corey batted .310 with six doubles and 15 RBI.
Following his junior campaign, Corey was invited to the California North-South All-Star Series and the Area Code Baseball Tryouts. He also played for the NorCal Dodgers Scout Team during the summer.
“Kenny has very good foot speed along with good hands, a strong arm, and the instincts to be a very good infielder,” said Govs head coach Gary McClure. “He is not flashy, but a blue-collar player and a very good teammate who just goes about his business and stays within his ability both offensively and defensively. In the field he can play shortstop, second base and third base which will give him an opportunity to get in the lineup and make us a deeper team in the field.”
