53rd Annual Christmas Parade happens Saturday, December 1st

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – The 53rd Annual Christmas Parade will be a night-time, lighted Christmas parade and is scheduled for December 1st, 2012 beginning at 5:00pm.

This year’s parade will feature both the Austin Peay State University Governors Own Marching Band and the Tennessee State University Band, dozens of businesses and organizations, as well as Santa Claus.

The City of Clarksville and Montgomery County Government have partnered with Agero to host the parade.

The Christmas parade is an event for local businesses, schools, and organizations to showcase their Christmas spirit. This year’s theme is “Christmas Around the World”.

The parade route will begin on 8th Street on the campus of APSU. From 8th Street, floats will proceed to College Street and then to University Boulevard and begin following the same route as years past going around Public Square, then around the Historic Courthouse and back to Franklin Street. From Franklin Street, turn onto 8th Street, back onto the Campus.
