Clarksville, TN – The 6th Annual Downtown for the Holidays celebration presented by the City of Clarksville and Montgomery County Government, in Downtown Clarksville, is Saturday, December 1st, 2012.
The event kicks off with the Jingle Bell Jog 5K hosted by the City of Clarksville and Run for a Reason. The 5K race will begin at 8:00am, in downtown Clarksville.
At 4:00pm, join the City of Clarksville and Montgomery County Government as they host activities for the whole family. Enjoy free hot chocolate on Public Square and caroling on the County Square. Once again, the City of Clarksville and Ingredients have partnered together to host this year’s 4th Annual Christmas Cookie Bake-off. To participate, bake your favorite holiday treat and submit your entry to Ingredients, located at 100 Strawberry Alley by 4:00pm. Entries will be judged according to taste, presentation, and originality.
This hometown celebration will come to a close with the much anticipated 53rd annual Clarksville Lighted Christmas Parade, presented by the City and County as well as Agero, at 5:00pm.
This year’s theme is “Christmas Around the World” and will feature both the Austin Peay State University Governors Own Marching Band, the Tennessee State University Marching Band, Montgomery Central High School Marching Band, dozens of businesses and organizations, as well as Santa Clause.
Downtown for the Holidays is presented by the City of Clarksville and Montgomery County Government and is sponsored by Agero, US Bank, The Leaf-Chronicle, Lamar Advertising, Clarksville Family Magazine, DiscoverClarksville, ClarksvilleOnline.com, and C&S Automotive.
