Customs House Museum’s Art and Lunch: Winslow Homer, Thursday

The Customs House Museum and Cultural CenterClarksville, TN – On Thursday, December 6th, 2012, the Customs House Museum and Cultural Center will be holding their Art and Lunch program featuring a film about Winslow Homer: The Nature of the Artist at 12:15pm.

Art historian John Wilmerding discusses the development of the art of American painter Winslow Homer (1836-1910): the early illustrations of the Civil War, picturesque scenes in the country and at the shore, and powerful images of nature that characterize his mature work.

This film shows places identified with his life and work. Bagged lunches welcome. In conjunction with the exhibit Denton Ridge: Mountains to Coasts.

Admission to the film is free.

The Museum will be closed December 24th and 25th for the Christmas holiday.

Regular museum hours are 10:00am to 5:00pm Tuesday through Saturday, and 1:00pm to 5:00pm on Sundays. Adult admission is $7.00, Sr. Citizens and College ID $5.00, Ages 6 to 18 $3.00, and under six years and Museum members are free.
