Registration to begin for Youth Dodgeball League
Registration for the Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s first-ever Youth Dodgeball League will take place November 19th through December 21st! Participants can register at the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Main office as well as online at recpro.cityofclarksville.com.
This six-week Youth Dodgeball League is open to ages 6 to 17 years and is free to participate. Games will be played at the Crow Community Center on Friday evenings beginning January 11th, with a pre-league meeting held January 4th for all players to go over rules and teams.
Dodgeball is a great way to keep children active while having fun. Dodgeball promotes teamwork and develops arm strength, speed, flexibility and hand-eye coordination. Balls are made of soft fabric to prevent injury.
Parks and Recreation now offers Pool Party Packages
The City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department now offers Pool Party Packages for those wishing to celebrate at the indoor pool! Pool Party Packages are available during regular operating hours for parties of 10-20 people. Groups of more than 20 can be booked as a private party. Reservations must be made in advance through the Parks & Recreation Department.
Pool Party Packages include all of the fun of hosting a party, without the stress of planning and coordinating! There are three Birthday Party Packages ranging from $100.00-150.00. Each includes two hours of water play equipment usages, food for party-goers, drinks, tables and more.
Along with Birthday Packages, the pool also offers a SCUBA Party Package for up to ten people for $100.00. This option includes the amenities of a Birthday Package, but also includes a certified SCUBA instructor who will introduce the group to diving essentials before taking everyone in for the hands-on experience.
Participants must be at least 10-years-old. Those interested in trying their hand at SCUBA on their own may do so at the monthly Try SCUBA class held at the Indoor Aquatic Center, located at 166 Cunningham Lane on the first Saturday of the month.
The next class will be December 1st at 1:00pm.
